On January 12, 1998, the Starr Chamber Inquisitors received information
that Lord Byron was attempting to influence the testimony of one
of the witnesses [Noisy Gossippe] in the Jones
litigation, and that Lord Byron himself was prepared to
provide false information under oath in that lawsuit.
The Starr Chamber was also informed that allegedly Lord Byron had spoken to the Prime Minister and the Prime
Minister's close friend Vernice Jordan about being subpoenaed to testify in the Jones
suit, and that Vernice Jordan and others were helping him find a job.
The allegations with respect to Jordan and the job search were similar to ones the Starr Chamber had tried to prove in the ongoing Whitewater
investigation but which had been dismissed by the courts.
