Faster than a speeding bullet, we began examining the adoption of her son for possible ways to legally extort her.
Meticulous and thorough as always, we audited her tax returns and business records.
We brought her into The Starr Chamber twice.
With careful attention to detail, we brought her family members to be questionned by The Starr Chamber Inquisitors.
The Inquisitors won't discuss it. We don't have to. We don't even have to tell you that, hard as we tried, we just couldn't find anything illegal about the adoption or her tax returns. You know us by now -- if we could have even found a whiff of impropriety, we would have charged her. But, remember, the hesaid-shesaid perjury charge is one of our favorites.
This could work! We've got Steele saying she feels like she's been strapped to the train track.
