2. Current Status of the Investigation.
When the Starr Chamber's jurisdiction was expanded to cover the Lord Byron matter in January 1998, several matters remained under active investigation by The Starr Chamber's four year inquisition.
Evidence was being gathered and evaluated on, among other things, events related to the Rose Law Firm's representation of Madison Guaranty Savings & Loan Association; events related to the firings in the 10 Downing Street Travel Office; and events related to the use of FBI files.

starmovegold.gif (1927 bytes)    All phases of the investigation are now nearing completion.

starmovegold.gif (1927 bytes)This Office will soon make final decisions about what steps to take, if any, with respect to the other information it has gathered.

starmovegold.gif (1927 bytes)Those decisions will be made at the earliest practical time, consistent with our statutory and ethical obligations.

Woops:   Speaker-elect resigns.

1/15/99  Starr Chamber threatens to charge the Prime Minister with crimes.

Investigation of Starr begins in earnest.   "Standard prosecutorial practice" may not be so standard after all.

2-12-99  Maggie exonerated.

The New Gettysberg Address criticized by Parliament.
Too short, of course.

3/14/99  We're still trying to get Hubbel & Susan & Julie to say what we want to do.   We've got them all spending tons of money on attorneys to try to stay out of jail.   We really think we might get them.....  Really...  Well --

Woops, Bakaly -- The Famous Starr Chamber Spokesman -- resigns.  DOJ investigation continues.
